A Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, member of the volunteer fire department and a board member for Fundy North Fisherman’s Association. In his second term mayor Harvey Matthews wants a place for the community to gather and has his sights set on a community center.

Looking to get more involved in your community?
The Rural Community of Campobello Island is looking for residents who are interested in serving on committees that help shape our community and represent Campobello Island at the regional level.
Whether you'd like to have your voice heard, contribute your skills and experience, or take on a leadership role in helping guide important decisions, we'd love to hear from you.
We are currently seeking community representatives for the following committees through the Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission:
· Regional Tourism Committee
· Community Development Committee
· Planning Review & Adjustment Committee
Serving on a committee is a great way to stay informed, meet others who care about our community, and help influence decisions that affect Campobello Island and our region.
